Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer brings to mind the brilliance and magic of the desert. Founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D., this remote location seems unspoilt and untouched by the outside world. The 12th century Jailsalmer Fort stands tall about 100 meters over the city and houses a citadel within.A group of fine Jain temples were built in the 12th to 15th century within the Jaisalmer Fort. Havelis here tell a story of the past. A desert safari here brings about the romance, chivalry and pride of the ages gone by. From the Sam Sand Dunes, one can see the sandy desert from close.
